Conch fritters are one of the Bahama’s iconic staples. There is nothing more delicious then enjoying these fritters with a cold beer and a gorgeous ocean view…. Except knowing that you caught, cleaned, and cooked the fritters YOURSELF! Below is our go-to conch fritter recipe ↓
Conch Fritter Recipe
Ingredients
2 medium conch – finely chopped
2 cups flour
1 1/4 cups milk
3/4 cup carrots – finely chopped
1 medium onion – finely chopped
2 cloves garlic – minced
2 tsp baking powder
Salt and Pepper
Veggie oil for frying
Directions
- Heat oil in a frying pan
- Mix all ingredients together until moist (almost runny) dough forms.
- Use a tablespoon to scoop and drop dough evenly in heated oil
- Fry until golden brown
Sauce
Mix together ketchup and Mayonnaise (1:1 ratio)
Add one avocado and juice from 1 lime
Blend until smooth.
