The Millennium Pro-M Series boat seat is a simple and affordable option for lightweight catamarans, like ours, or fishing boats. I’ve sailed a few thousand miles leaving the seat exposed to saltwater and sun at all times, and I have very little wear and tear.
The Millennium Pro-M boat seat is made of anodized aluminum so there is very little corrosion. This seat holds up very well in a saltwater, UV exposed environment.
First Thoughts: Lightweight Boat Seat
My favorite feature about this seat is that it is very lightweight. It is made of breathable mesh material and I rarely get hot or sweaty sitting in the seat. It has great lumbar support and also folds down which is perfect for times when we dock and leave the boat. When you fold the seat down you can also secure the seat with a button if you prefer to.
Sierra: Adapter Wishes & Reclining Seat Feature
One criticism Sierra has about this seat is that she wishes she could slide the seat forward a bit. It would be helpful if they made an adapter extension somewhere where you could manually slide the seat forward or backwards to adjust to your height/length. Fortunately, the seat does have a reclining feature where you can loosen the strap to give you a reclined seating position or tighten the strap to give you an upright seating position.
Billy: Boat Seat Strap Thoughts
The only critique I have about the reclining feature is that the strap wears out. The straps run through an aluminum slot with a sharp edge, so after five or six months the strap begins to wear out. The strap on my seat eventually broke, so I now have to buy a replacement strap. Before your strap wears, I highly recommend taking a piece of emery cloth or sandpaper to run down the aluminum edge to prevent strap breakage.
